The incident happened just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 in Uniondale.
An 83-year-old man was operating a 2010 GMC westbound on Jerusalem Avenue when the man, age 72, was struck in the vicinity of Edgemere Avenue, Nassau County Police said.
The pedestrian suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. No other injuries were reported.
A vehicle brake and safety check were conducted and the driver remained at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
The investigation into the incident continues.
